యెహోషువ 6

1. ఆ కాలమున ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల భయముచేత ఎవడును వెలుపలికి పోకుండను లోపలికి రాకుండను యెరికోపట్టణ ద్వారము గట్టిగా మూసి వేయబడెను.

1. Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.

2. అప్పుడు యెహోవా యెహోషువతో ఇట్లనెనుచూడుము; నేను యెరికోను దాని రాజును పరాక్రమముగల శూరులను నీచేతికి అప్పగించుచున్నాను.

2. And the LORD said unto Joshua, "See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof and the mighty men of valor.

3. మీరందరు యుద్ధసన్న ద్ధులై పట్టణమును ఆవరించి యొకమారు దానిచుట్టు తిరుగ వలెను.

3. And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days.

4. ఆలాగు ఆరు దినములు చేయుచు రావలెను. ఏడుగురు యాజకులు పొట్టేలుకొమ్ము బూరలను పట్టుకొని ముందుగా నడువవలెను. ఏడవ దినమున మీరు ఏడు మారులు పట్టణముచుట్టు తిరుగుచుండగా ఆ యాజకులు బూరల నూదవలెను.

4. And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams' horns; and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.

5. మానక ఆ కొమ్ములతో వారు ధ్వని చేయుచుండగా మీరు బూరలధ్వని వినునప్పుడు జను లందరు ఆర్భాటముగా కేకలు వేయవలెను, అప్పుడు ఆ పట్టణ ప్రాకారము కూలును గనుక జనులు తమ యెదుటికి చక్కగా ఎక్కుదురు అనెను.

5. And it shall come to pass, when they make a long blast with the ram's horn and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, that all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him."

6. నూను కుమారు డైన యెహోషువ యాజకులను పిలిపించిమీరు నిబంధన మందసమును ఎత్తికొని మోయుడి; ఏడుగురు యాజకులు యెహోవా మందసమునకు ముందుగా పొట్టేలుకొమ్ము బూరలను ఏడు పట్టుకొని నడువవలెనని వారితో చెప్పెను.

6. And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests and said unto them, "Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD."

7. మరియు అతడుమీరు సాగి పట్టణమును చుట్టుకొను డనియు, యోధులు యెహోవా మందసమునకు ముందుగా నడవవలెననియు ప్రజలతో చెప్పెను.

7. And he said unto the people, "Pass on, and compass the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of the LORD."

8. యెహోషువ ప్రజల కాజ్ఞాపించిన తరువాత ఏడుగురు యాజకులు పొట్టేలుకొమ్ము బూరలను ఏడు యెహోవా సన్నిధిని పట్టుకొని సాగుచు, ఆ బూరలను ఊదుచుండగా యెహోవా నిబంధన మందసమును వారివెంట నడిచెను.

8. And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns passed on before the LORD and blew with the trumpets; and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them.

9. యోధులు బూరల నూదుచున్న యాజకులకు ముందుగా నడిచిరి, దండు వెనుకటి భాగము మందసము వెంబడి వచ్చెను, యాజకులు వెళ్లుచు బూరలను ఊదుచుండిరి.

9. And the armed men went before the priests who blew with the trumpets, and the rearward came after the ark, the priests going on and blowing with the trumpets.

10. మరియు యెహోషువమీరు కేకలు వేయుడని నేను మీతో చెప్పు దినమువరకు మీరు కేకలువేయవద్దు. మీ కంఠధ్వని వినబడనీయవద్దు, మీ నోటనుండి యే ధ్వనియు రావలదు, నేను చెప్పునప్పుడే మీరు కేకలు వేయవలెనని జనులకు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను.

10. And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, "Ye shall not shout nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth until the day I bid you shout. Then shall ye shout."

11. అట్లు యెహోవా మందసము ఆ పట్టణమును చుట్టుకొని యొకమారు దానిచుట్టు తిరిగిన తరువాత వారు పాళెములో చొచ్చి రాత్రి పాళెములో గడిపిరి.

11. So the ark of the LORD compassed the city, going about it once; and they came into the camp and lodged in the camp.

12. ఉదయమున యెహోషువ లేవగా యాజకులు యెహోవా మందసమును ఎత్తికొని మోసిరి.

12. And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the LORD.

13. ఏడుగురు యాజకులు పొట్టేలుకొమ్ము బూరలను ఏడు పట్టుకొని, నిలువక యెహోవా మందసమునకు ముందుగా నడుచుచు బూరలు ఊదుచు వచ్చిరి, యోధులు వారికి ముందుగా నడిచిరి, దండు వెనుకటి భాగము యెహోవా మందసము వెంబడివచ్చెను, యాజకులు వెళ్లుచు బూరలు ఊదుచు వచ్చిరి.

13. And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually and blew with the trumpets; and the armed men went before them, but the rearward came after the ark of the LORD, the priests going on and blowing with the trumpets.

14. అట్లు రెండవదినమున వారొకమారు పట్టణము చుట్టు తిరిగి పాళెమునకు మరల వచ్చిరి. ఆరుదినములు వారు ఆలాగు చేయుచువచ్చిరి.

14. And the second day they compassed the city once and returned into the camp. So they did six days.

15. ఏడవ దినమున వారు ఉదయమున చీకటితోనే లేచి యేడుమారులు ఆ ప్రకా రముగానే పట్టణ ముచుట్టు తిరిగిరి; ఆ దినమున మాత్రమే వారు ఏడు మారులు పట్టణముచుట్టు తిరిగిరి

15. And it came to pass on the seventh day that they rose early, about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city in the same manner seven times. Only on that day they compassed the city seven times.

16. ఏడవమారు యాజకులు బూరలు ఊదగా యెహోషువ జనులకు ఈలాగు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెనుకేకలువేయుడి, యెహోవా ఈ పట్టణమును మీకు అప్పగించుచున్నాడు.

16. And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, "Shout! For the LORD hath given you the city.

17. ఈ పట్టణ మును దీనిలో నున్నది యావత్తును యెహోవా వలన శపింప బడెను. రాహాబు అను వేశ్య మనము పంపిన దూతలను దాచిపెట్టెను గనుక ఆమెయు ఆ యింటనున్న వారంద రును మాత్రమే బ్రదుకుదురు.

17. And the city shall be accursed, even it and all who are therein, to the LORD. Only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all who are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.

18. శపింపబడినదానిలో కొంచెమైనను మీరు తీసికొనిన యెడల మీరు శాపగ్రస్తులై ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల పాళెమునకు శాపము తెప్పించి దానికి బాధ కలుగజేయుదురు గనుక శపింపబడిన దానిని మీరు ముట్టకూడదు.

18. And ye, in all ways keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse and trouble it.

19. వెండియు బంగారును ఇత్తడిపాత్రలును ఇనుపపాత్ర లును యెహోవాకు ప్రతిష్ఠితములగును; వాటిని యెహోవా ధనాగారములో నుంచవలెను.

19. But all the silver and gold and vessels of brass and iron are consecrated unto the LORD. They shall come into the treasury of the LORD."

20. యాజకులు బూరలు ఊదగా ప్రజలు కేకలు వేసిరి. ఆ బూరల ధ్వని వినినప్పుడు ప్రజలు ఆర్భాటముగా కేకలు వేయగా ప్రాకారము కూలెను; ప్రజలందరు తమ యెదుటికి చక్కగా పట్టణ ప్రాకారము ఎక్కి పట్టణమును పట్టుకొనిరి.

20. So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets. And it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him; and they took the city.

21. వారు పురుషులనేమి స్త్రీలనేమి చిన్న పెద్దలనందరిని యెద్దులను గొఱ్ఱెలను గాడిదలను ఆ పట్ట ణములోని సమస్తమును కత్తివాత సంహరించిరి.

21. And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox and sheep and ass, with the edge of the sword.

22. అయితే యెహోషువఆ వేశ్యయింటికి వెళ్లి మీరు ఆమెతో ప్రమాణము చేసినట్లు ఆమెను ఆమెకు కలిగినవారినందరిని అక్కడనుండి తోడుకొని రండని దేశమును వేగుచూచిన యిద్దరు మనుష్యులతో చెప్పగా

22. But Joshua had said unto the two men who had spied out the country, "Go into the harlot's house, and bring out from thence the woman and all that she hath, as ye swore unto her."

23. వేగులవారైన ఆ మను ష్యులు పోయి రాహా బును ఆమె తండ్రిని ఆమె తల్లిని ఆమె సహోదరులను ఆమెకు కలిగినవారినందరిని వెలుపలికి తోడుకొని వచ్చిరి; ఆమె యింటివారినందరిని వారు వెలుపలికి తోడుకొని ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల పాళెమువెలుపట వారిని నివసింపజేసిరి.

23. And the young men who were spies went in and brought Rahab and her father and her mother and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred and left them outside the camp of Israel.

24. అప్పుడు వారు ఆ పట్టణమును దానిలోని సమస్తమును అగ్నిచేత కాల్చివేసిరి; వెండిని బంగారును ఇత్తడి పాత్రలను ఇనుపపాత్రలను మాత్రమే యెహోవా మందిర ధనాగారములో నుంచిరి.

24. And they burned the city with fire and all that was therein. Only the silver and the gold and the vessels of brass and of iron they put into the treasury of the house of the LORD.

25. రాహాబను వేశ్య యెరికోను వేగుచూచుటకు యెహో షువ పంపిన దూతలను దాచిపెట్టి యుండెను గనుక అతడు ఆమెను ఆమె తండ్రి యింటివారిని ఆమెకు కలిగినవారినందరిని బ్రదుకనిచ్చెను. ఆమె నేటివరకు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల మధ్య నివసించుచున్నది.

25. And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father's household and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even unto this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.

26. ఆ కాలమున యెహోషువ జనులచేత శపథము చేయించి వారికీలాగు ఆజ్ఞాపించెనుఎవడు యెరికో పట్టణమును కట్టించపూనుకొనునో వాడు యెహోవా దృష్టికి శాపగ్రస్తుడగును; వాడు దాని పునాది వేయగా వాని జ్యేష్ఠకుమారుడు చచ్చును; దాని తలుపులను నిలువ నెత్తగా వాని కనిష్ఠకుమారుడు చచ్చును;

26. And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, "Cursed be the man before the LORD who riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho. He shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it."

27. యెహోవా యెహోషువకు తోడై యుండెను గనుక అతని కీర్తి దేశమందంతటను వ్యాపించెను.

27. So the LORD was with Joshua, and his fame was noised throughout all the country.

యెహోషువ 5

1. వారు దాటుచుండగా ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల యెదుట నుండి యెహోవా యొర్దాను నీళ్లను ఎండచేసిన సంగతి యొర్దానుకు పడమటిదిక్కుననున్న అమోరీయుల రాజు లందరును సముద్రమునొద్దనున్న కనానీయుల రాజు లందరును వినినప్పుడు వారి గుండెలు చెదరిపోయెను. ఇశ్రా యేలీయుల భయముచేత వారి కిక ధైర్యమేమియు లేక పోయెను.

1. And it came to pass, when all the kings of the Amorites who were on the side of the Jordan westward and all the kings of the Canaanites who were by the sea heard that the LORD had dried up the waters of the Jordan from before the children of Israel until we had passed over, that their heart melted; neither was there spirit in them any more because of the children of Israel.

2. ఆ సమయమున యెహోవారాతికత్తులు చేయించు కొని మరల ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు సున్నతి చేయించుమని యెహోషువకు ఆజ్ఞాపింపగా

2. At that time the LORD said unto Joshua, "Make thee sharp knives and circumcise again the children of Israel the second time."

3. యెహోషువ రాతికత్తులు చేయించుకొని సున్నతి గిరి అను స్థలము దగ్గర ఇశ్రాయేలీ యులకు సున్నతి చేయించెను.

3. And Joshua made him sharp knives, and circumcised the children of Israel at the hill of the foreskins [or, Gibeahhaaraloth].

4. యెహోషువ సున్నతి చేయించుటకు హేతువేమనగా, ఐగుప్తులోనుండి బయలు దేరినవారందరిలో యుద్ధసన్నద్ధులైన పురుషులందరు ఐగుప్తు మార్గమున అరణ్యములో చనిపోయిరి.

4. And this is the cause why Joshua did circumcise: All the people who came out of Egypt who were males, even all the men of war, died in the wilderness by the way after they came out of Egypt.

5. బయలుదేరిన పురుషులందరు సున్నతి పొందినవారే కాని ఐగుప్తులో నుండి బయలుదేరిన తరువాత అరణ్యమార్గమందు పుట్టిన వారిలో ఎవరును సున్నతి పొందియుండలేదు.

5. Now all the people who came out were circumcised; but all the people who were born in the wilderness on the way as they came forth out of Egypt, them they had not circumcised.

6. యెహోవా మనకు ఏ దేశమును ఇచ్చెదనని వారి పితరులతో ప్రమా ణముచేసెనో, పాలు తేనెలు ప్రవహించు ఆ దేశమును తాను వారికి చూపింపనని యెహోవా ప్రమాణము చేసి యుండెను గనుక ఐగుప్తులోనుండి వచ్చిన ఆ యోధు లందరు యెహోవా మాట వినకపోయినందున వారు నశించువరకు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు నలువది సంవత్సరములు అరణ్యములో సంచరించుచు వచ్చిరి.

6. For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness till all the people who were men of war, who came out of Egypt, were consumed because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD. Unto these the LORD swore that He would not show them the land which the LORD swore unto their fathers that He would give us, a land that floweth with milk and honey.

7. ఆయన వారికి ప్రతిగా పుట్టించిన వారి కుమారులు సున్నతి పొంది యుండలేదు గనుక వారికి సున్నతి చేయించెను; ఏల యనగా మార్గమున వారికి సున్నతి జరుగలేదు.

7. And their children, whom He raised up in their stead, them Joshua circumcised; for they were uncircumcised, because they had not circumcised them on the way.

8. కాబట్టి ఆ సమస్త జనము సున్నతి పొందుట తీరిన తరువాత తాము బాగుపడు వరకు పాళెములోని తమ చోట్ల నిలిచిరి.

8. And it came to pass, when they had done circumcising all the people, that they abode in their places in the camp till they were whole.

9. అప్పుడు యెహోవానేడు నేను ఐగుప్తు అవమానము మీ మీద నుండకుండ దొరలించివేసి యున్నానని యెహో షువతో ననెను. అందుచేత నేటివరకు ఆ చోటికి గిల్గా లను పేరు.

9. And the LORD said unto Joshua, "This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you." Therefore the name of the place is called Gilgal [that is, Rolling] unto this day.

10. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు గిల్గాలులో దిగి ఆ నెల పదు నాలుగవ తేదిని సాయంకాలమున యెరికో మైదానములో పస్కాపండుగను ఆచరించిరి.

10. And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal, and kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month at evening in the plains of Jericho.

11. పస్కా పోయిన మరు నాడు వారు ఈ దేశపు పంటను తినిరి. ఆ దినమందే వారు పొంగకయు వేచబడియునున్న భక్ష్య ములను తినిరి.

11. And they ate of the old corn of the land on the morrow after the Passover, unleavened cakes and parched corn on the selfsame day.

12. మరునాడు వారు ఈ దేశపు పంటను తినుచుండగా మన్నా మానిపోయెను; అటుతరువాత ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు మన్నా దొరకకపోయెను. ఆ సంవత్సరమున వారు కనానుదేశపు పంటను తినిరి.

12. And the manna ceased on the morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land; neither had the children of Israel manna any more, but they ate of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.

13. యెహోషువ యెరికో ప్రాంతమున నున్నప్పుడు అతడు కన్నులెత్తి చూడగా, దూసిన కత్తి చేత పట్టుకొనియున్న ఒకడు అతని యెదుట నిలిచియుండెను; యెహోషువ అతనియొద్దకు వెళ్లినీవు మా పక్షముగా నున్నవాడవా, మా విరోధులపక్షముగా నున్నవాడవా? అని అడుగగా

13. And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, there stood a man opposite him with his sword drawn in his hand; and Joshua went unto him and said unto him, "Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?"

14. And he said, "Nay, but as captain of the host of the LORD have I now come." And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said unto him, "What saith my lord unto his servant?"

15. అందుకు యెహోవా సేనాధిపతి నీవు నిలిచియున్న యీ స్థలము పరిశుద్ధమైనది, నీ పాద రక్షలను తీసి వేయుమని యెహోషువతో చెప్పగా యెహో షువ ఆలాగు చేసెను.

15. And the captain of the LORD'S host said unto Joshua, "Loose thy shoe from off thy foot, for the place whereon thou standest is holy." And Joshua did so.

యెహోషువ 4

1. జనులందరు యొర్దానును దాటుట తుదముట్టిన తరువాత యెహోవా యెహోషువతో నీలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను

1. And it came to pass, when all the people had clean passed over the Jordan, that the LORD spoke unto Joshua, saying,

2. ప్రతిగోత్రమునకు ఒక్కొక మనుష్యుని చొప్పున పన్ని ద్దరు మనుష్యులను ఏర్పరచి

2. "Take you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a man,

3. యాజకుల కాళ్లు నిలిచిన స్థలమున యొర్దాను నడుమనుండి పండ్రెండు రాళ్లను తీసి వాటిని ఇవతలకు తెచ్చి, మీరు ఈ రాత్రి బసచేయు చోట వాటిని నిలువబెట్టుడని వారి కాజ్ఞాపించుము

3. and command ye them, saying, `Take you hence out of the midst of the Jordan, from the place where the priests' feet stood firm, twelve stones; and ye shall carry them over with you and leave them in the lodging place where ye shall lodge this night.'"

4. కావున యెహోషువ ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో సిద్ధపరచిన పన్నిద్దరు మనుష్యులను, అనగా ప్రతి గోత్రమునకు ఒక్కొక్క మనుష్యుని పిలిపించి

4. Then Joshua called the twelve men, whom he had prepared of the children of Israel, out of every tribe a man.

5. వారితో ఇట్లనెనుయొర్దాను నడుమనున్న మీ దేవు డైన యెహోవా మంద సము నెదుట దాటిపోయి, ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల గోత్రముల లెక్క చొప్పున ప్రతివాడును ఒక్కొక రాతిని తన భుజముమీద పెట్టుకొని తేవలెను.

5. And Joshua said unto them, "Pass over before the ark of the LORD your God into the midst of the Jordan, and take ye up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the number of the tribes of the children of Israel,

6. ఇకమీదట మీ కుమారులుఈ రాళ్లెందు కని అడుగునప్పుడు మీరుయెహోవా మందసము నెదుట యొర్దాను నీళ్లు ఏకరాశిగా ఆపబడెను.

6. that this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, `What mean ye by these stones?'

7. అది యొర్దానును దాటుచుండగా యొర్దాను నీళ్లు ఆపబడెను గనుక యీ రాళ్లు చిరకాలము వరకు ఇశ్రా యేలీయులకు జ్ఞాపకార్థముగా నుండునని వారితో చెప్పవలెను. అది మీకు ఆనవాలై యుండును,

7. then ye shall answer them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD: when it passed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. And these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever."

8. అందుకే దీని చేయవలెను. యెహోషువ ఆజ్ఞాపించినట్లు ఇశ్రా యేలీయులు చేసిరి. యెహోవా యెహోషువతో చెప్పి నట్లు వారు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల గోత్రముల లెక్కచొప్పున యొర్దాను నడుమనుండి పండ్రెండు రాళ్లను తీసి తాము బసచేసిన చోటికి తెచ్చి అక్కడ నిలువబెట్టిరి.

8. And the children of Israel did so as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the midst of the Jordan, as the LORD spoke unto Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, and carried them over with them unto the place where they lodged, and laid them down there.

9. అప్పుడు యెహోషువ నిబంధన మందసమును మోయు యాజకుల కాళ్లు యొర్దాను నడుమ నిలిచిన చోట పండ్రెండు రాళ్లను నిలువ బెట్టించెను. నేటివరకు అవి అక్కడ నున్నవి.

9. And Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of the Jordan in the place where the feet of the priests who bore the ark of the covenant stood; and they are there unto this day.

10. ప్రజలతో చెప్పవలెనని యెహోవా యెహోషువకు ఆజ్ఞా పించినదంతయు, అనగా మోషే యెహోషువకు ఆజ్ఞా పించినదంతయు, నెరవేరువరకు యాజకులు మందసమును మోయుచు యొర్దానునడుమ నిలుచుండగా జనులు త్వరపడి దాటిరి.

10. For the priests who bore the ark stood in the midst of the Jordan until everything was finished that the LORD commanded Joshua to speak unto the people, according to all that Moses commanded Joshua; and the people hastened and passed over.

11. జనులందరు దాటిన తరువాత వారు చూచుచుం డగా యెహోవా మందసము మోయు యాజకులు దాటిరి.

11. And it came to pass, when all the people had clean passed over, that the ark of the LORD passed over, and the priests, in the presence of the people.

12. మరియు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు చూచుచుండగా రూబేనీయు లును గాదీయులును మనష్షే అర్ధగోత్రపు వారును మోషే వారితో చెప్పినట్లు యుద్ధసన్నద్ధులై దాటిరి.

12. And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and half the tribe of Manasseh passed over armed before the children of Israel, as Moses spoke unto them.

13. సేనలో ఇంచుమించు నలువది వేలమంది యుద్ధసన్నద్ధులై యుద్ధము చేయుటకు యెహోవా సన్నిధిని యెరికో మైదానములకు దాటివచ్చిరి.

13. About forty thousand prepared for war passed over before the LORD unto battle to the plains of Jericho.

14. ఆ దినమున యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయు లందరి యెదుట యెహోషువను గొప్పచేసెను గనుక వారు మోషేను గౌరవపరచినట్లు అతని బ్రదుకు దినములన్నిటను అతని గౌరవపరచిరి.

14. On that day the LORD magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his life.

15. యెహోవాసాక్ష్యపు మందసమును మోయు యాజ కులకు యొర్దానులోనుండి యివతలికి రండని

15. And the LORD spoke unto Joshua, saying,

16. ఆజ్ఞాపించు మని యెహోషువతో సెలవియ్యగా

16. "Command the priests who bear the ark of the Testimony that they come up out of the Jordan."

17. యెహోషువ యొర్దానులోనుండి యెక్కి రండని ఆ యాజకుల కాజ్ఞా పించెను.

17. Joshua therefore commanded the priests, saying, "Come ye up out of the Jordan."

18. యెహోవా నిబంధన మందసమును మోయు యాజకులు యొర్దాను నడుమనుండి యెక్కి వచ్చినప్పుడు ఆ యాజకుల అరకాళ్లు పొడినేలను నిలువగానే యొర్దాను నీళ్లు వాటిచోటికి ఎప్పటివలెనే మరలి దాని గట్లన్నిటి మీద పొర్లి పారెను.

18. And it came to pass, when the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD had come up out of the midst of the Jordan, and the soles of the priests' feet were lifted up unto the dry land, that the waters of the Jordan returned unto their place and flowed over all his banks, as they did before.

19. మొదటి నెల పదియవ తేదిని జనులు యొర్దానులోనుండి యెక్కి వచ్చి యెరికో తూర్పు ప్రాంతమందలి గిల్గాలులో దిగగా

19. And the people came up out of the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month and encamped in Gilgal on the east border of Jericho.

20. వారు యొర్దానులో నుండి తెచ్చిన పండ్రెండు రాళ్లను యెహోషువ గిల్గాలులో నిలువబెట్టించి

20. And those twelve stones which they took out of the Jordan did Joshua set up in Gilgal.

21. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులతో ఇట్లనెనురాబోవు కాలమున మీ సంతతివారు ఈ రాళ్లెందుకని తమ తండ్రులను అడుగుదురుగదా;

21. And he spoke unto the children of Israel, saying, "When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, `What mean these stones?'

22. అప్పుడు మీరుఇశ్రా యేలీయులు ఆరిన నేలమీద ఈ యొర్దానును దాటిరి.

22. then ye shall let your children know, saying, `Israel came over this Jordan on dry land.'

23. ఎట్లనగా యెహోవా బాహువు బలమైనదని భూనివాసు లందరు తెలిసికొనుటకును,

23. For the LORD your God dried up the waters of the Jordan from before you until ye had passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red Sea, which He dried up from before us until we had gone over,

24. మీరు ఎల్లప్పుడును మీ దేవు డైన యెహోవాయందు భయభక్తులు నిలుపుటకును, మేము దాటువరకు మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా తానే మాయెదుట ఎఱ్ఱసముద్రమును ఎండచేసినట్లు మీరు దాటువరకు మీ యెదుట యొర్దాను నీళ్ళను ఎండచేసెనని చెప్పి యీ సంగతి వారికి తెలియపరచవలెను.

24. that all the people of the earth might know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty, that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever."

యెహోషువ 3

1. యెహోషువ వేకువను లేచినప్పుడు అతడును ఇశ్రా యేలీయులందరును షిత్తీమునుండి బయలుదేరి యొర్దానుకు వచ్చి దానిని దాటకమునుపు అక్కడ నిలిచిరి.

1. And Joshua rose early in the morning; and they removed from Shittim and came to the Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they passed over.

2. మూడు దినములైన తరువాత నాయకులు పాళెములో తిరుగుచు జనులకు ఈలాగున ఆజ్ఞా పించిరి

2. And it came to pass after three days that the officers went through the host,

3. మీరు మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా నిబంధన మందసమును యాజకులైన లేవీయులు మోసికొని పోవుట చూచునప్పుడు మీరున్న స్థలములో నుండి బయలుదేరి దాని వెంబడి వెళ్లవలెను.

3. and they commanded the people, saying, "When ye see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place and go after it.

4. మీకును దానికిని దాదాపు రెండువేలకొల మూరల యెడముండ వలెను. మీరు వెళ్లుత్రోవ మీరింతకుముందుగా వెళ్లినది కాదు, మీరు దానిని గురుతుపట్టవలెను గనుక ఆ మందసమునకు సమీపముగా మీరు నడవరాదు.

4. Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure. Come not near unto it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go, for ye have not passed this way heretofore."

5. మరియు యెహోషువరేపు యెహోవా మీ మధ్య అద్భుతకార్య ములను చేయును గనుక మిమ్మును మీరు పరిశుద్ధపరచు కొనుడని జనులకు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను.

5. And Joshua said unto the people, "Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you."

6. మీరు నిబంధన మందసమును ఎత్తికొని ప్రజల ముందర నడువుడని యాజ కులకు అతడు సెలవియ్యగా వారు నిబంధన మందసమును ఎత్తికొని ప్రజలముందర నడచిరి.

6. And Joshua spoke unto the priests, saying, "Take up the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the people." And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people.

7. అప్పుడు యెహోవా యెహోషువతో ఇట్లనెను నేను మోషేకు తోడైయుండినట్లు నీకును తోడైయుందు నని ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరు ఎరుగునట్లు నేడు వారి కన్నులయెదుట నిన్ను గొప్పచేయ మొదలు పెట్టెదను.

7. And the LORD said unto Joshua, "This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee.

8. మీరు యొర్దాను నీళ్లదరికి వచ్చి యొర్దానులో నిలువుడని నిబంధన మందసమును మోయు యాజకులకు ఆజ్ఞా పించుము.

8. And thou shalt command the priests who bear the ark of the covenant, saying, `When ye have come to the brink of the water of the Jordan, ye shall stand still in the Jordan.'"

9. కాబట్టి యెహోషువమీరు ఇక్కడికి వచ్చి మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మాటలు వినుడని ఇశ్రాయేలీ యులకు ఆజ్ఞాపించి

9. And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, "Come hither, and hear the words of the LORD your God."

10. వారితో యిట్లనెనుసర్వలోక నాధుని నిబంధన మందసము మీకు ముందుగా యొర్దానును దాటబోవుచున్నది గనుక

10. And Joshua said, "Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you, and that He will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Hivites and the Perizzites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Jebusites.

11. జీవముగల దేవుడుreference మీ మధ్య నున్నాడనియు, ఆయన నిశ్చయముగా మీ యెదుటనుండి కనానీయులను హిత్తీయులను హివ్వీయులను పెరిజ్జీయు లను గెర్గేషీయులను అమోరీయులను యెబూసీయులను వెళ్లగొట్టుననియు దీనివలన మీరు తెలిసి కొందురు.

11. Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passeth over before you into the Jordan.

12. కాబట్టి ప్రతిగోత్రమునకు ఒక్కొక మనుష్యుని ఇశ్రా యేలీయుల గోత్రములలోనుండి పన్నిద్దరు మనుష్యులను ఏర్పరచు కొనుడి.

12. Now therefore, take for yourselves twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, out of every tribe a man.

13. సర్వలోక నాధుడగు యెహోవా నిబంధన మందసమును మోయు యాజ కుల అరకాళ్లు యొర్దాను నీళ్లను ముట్టగానే యొర్దాను నీళ్లు, అనగా ఎగువనుండి పారు నీళ్లు ఆపబడి యేకరాశిగా నిలుచును.

13. And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, that the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand up in a heap."

14. కోత కాలమంతయు యొర్దాను దాని గట్లన్నిటిమీద పొర్లి పారును; నిబంధన మందస మును మోయు యాజ కులు జనులకు ముందు వెళ్లగా యొర్దానును దాటుటకై జనులు తమ గుడారములలోనుండి బయలుదేరిరి.

14. And it came to pass, when the people removed from their tents to pass over the Jordan, and the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people,

15. అప్పుడు ఆ మందసమును మోయువారు యొర్దానులో దిగినతరువాత మందసమును మోయు యాజకుల కాళ్లు నీటి అంచున మునగగానే

15. and as those who bore the ark had come unto the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark were dipped in the brim of the water (for the Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest),

16. పైనుండి పారు నీళ్లు బహు దూరమున సారెతానునొద్దనున్న ఆదామను పురమునకు దగ్గర ఏక రాశిగా నిలిచెను. లవణసముద్రమను అరాబా సముద్ర మునకు పారునవి బొత్తిగా ఆపబడెను.

16. that the waters which came down from above stood and rose up in a heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan. And those who came down toward the sea of the plain, even the Salt Sea, failed and were cut off; and the people passed over right against Jericho.

17. జనులు యెరికో యెదుటను దాటగా యెహోవా నిబంధన మందసమును మోయు యాజకులు యొర్దానుమధ్య ఆరిన నేలను స్థిర ముగా నిలిచిరి. జనులందరు యొర్దానును దాటుట తుద ముట్టువరకు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరు ఆరిన నేలమీద దాటుచు వచ్చిరి.

17. And the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people had passed clean over the Jordan.

యెహోషువ 2

1. నూను కుమారుడైన యెహోషువ వేగులవారైన యిద్దరు మనుష్యులను పిలిపించిమీరు పోయి ఆ దేశమును ముఖ్యముగా యెరికోను చూడుడని వారితో చెప్పి, షిత్తీమునొద్దనుండి వారిని రహస్యముగా పంపెను. వారు వెళ్లి రాహాబను నొక వేశ్యయింట చేరి అక్కడదిగగా

1. And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, "Go, view the land, even Jericho." And they went and came into a harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there.

2. దేశమును వేగుచూచుటకు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులయొద్దనుండి మనుష్యులు రాత్రివేళ ఇక్కడికి వచ్చిరని యెరికో రాజునకు వర్తమానము వచ్చెను.

2. And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, "Behold, there came men in hither tonight of the children of Israel to search out the country."

3. అతడునీయొద్దకు వచ్చి నీ యింట చేరిన ఆ మను ష్యులను వెలుపలికి తీసికొనిరమ్ము; వారు ఈ దేశమంతటిని వేగు చూచుటకై వచ్చిరని చెప్పు టకు రాహాబు నొద్దకు మనుష్యులను పంపగా

3. And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, "Bring forth the men who have come to thee, who have entered into thine house, for they have come to search out all the country."

4. ఆ స్త్రీ ఆ యిద్దరు మనుష్యులను తోడుకొని వారిని దాచిపెట్టి మనుష్యులు నా యొద్దకు వచ్చిన మాట నిజమే,

4. And the woman took the two men and hid them, and said thus, "There came men unto me, but I knew not from whence they came.

5. వారెక్కడనుండి వచ్చిరో నేనెరుగను; చీకటిపడు చుండగా గవిని వేయబడు వేళను ఆ మనుష్యులు వెలు పలికి వెళ్లిరి, వారెక్కడికిపోయిరో నేనెరుగను; మీరు వారిని శీఘ్రముగా తరిమితిరా పట్టుకొందురు

5. And it came to pass about the time of shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out. Whither the men went I know not. Pursue after them quickly, for ye shall overtake them."

6. అని చెప్పి తన మిద్దెమీదికి ఆ యిద్దరిని ఎక్కించి దానిమీద రాశివేసి యున్న జనుపకట్టెలో వారిని దాచి పెట్టెను.

6. But she had brought them up to the roof of the house and hid them with the stalks of flax which she had laid in order upon the roof.

7. ఆ మను ష్యులు యొర్దాను దాటు రేవుల మార్గముగా వారిని తరిమిరి; తరుమపోయిన మనుష్యులు బయలు వెళ్లినతోడనే గవిని వేయబడెను.

7. And the men pursued after them on the way to the Jordan unto the fords; and as soon as those who pursued after them had gone out, they shut the gate.

8. ఆ వేగులవారు పండుకొనకమునుపు, ఆమె వారున్న మిద్దెమీదికెక్కి వారితో ఇట్లనెను.

8. And before they lay down, she came up unto them upon the roof,

9. యెహోవా ఈ దేశమును మీకిచ్చుచున్నాడనియు, మీవలన మాకు భయము పుట్టుననియు, మీ భయమువలన ఈ దేశనివాసులందరికి ధైర్యము చెడుననియు నేనెరుగుదును.

9. and she said unto the men, "I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror has fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.

10. మీరు ఐగుప్తు దేశములోనుండి వచ్చినప్పుడు మీ యెదుట యెహోవా యెఱ్ఱసముద్రపు నీరును ఏలాగు ఆరిపోచేసెనో, యొర్దాను తీరముననున్న అమోరీయుల యిద్దరు రాజులైన సీహోనుకును ఓగుకును మీరేమి చేసితిరో, అనగా మీరు వారిని ఏలాగు నిర్మూలము చేసితిరో ఆ సంగతి మేము వింటిమి.

10. For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when ye came out of Egypt, and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites who were on the other side of the Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.

11. మేము వినినప్పుడు మా గుండెలు కరిగిపోయెను. మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా పైన ఆకాశ మందును క్రింద భూమియందును దేవుడే. మీ యెదుట ఎట్టి మనుష్యులకైనను ధైర్యమేమాత్రము ఉండదు.

11. And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man because of you; for the LORD your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath.

12. Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the LORD, since I have shown you kindness, that ye will also show kindness unto my father's house, and give me a true token,

13. నా తండ్రియు నా తల్లియు నా అన్నదమ్ములును నా అక్కచెల్లెండ్రును వారికి కలిగి యున్నవారందరును చావకుండ బ్రదుకనిచ్చి రక్షించు నట్లుగా దయచేసి యెహోవాతోడని ప్రమాణము చేయు డనెను.

13. and that ye will save alive my father and my mother, and my brethren and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death."

14. అందుకు ఆ మనుష్యులు ఆమెతోనీవు మా సంగతి వెల్లడి చేయనియెడల మీరు చావకుండునట్లు మీ ప్రాణములకు బదులుగా మా ప్రాణమిచ్చెదము, యెహోవా ఈ దేశమును మాకిచ్చునప్పుడు నిజముగా మేము నీకు ఉపకారము చేసెద మనిరి.

14. And the men answered her, "Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the LORD hath given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee."

15. ఆమె యిల్లు పట్టణపు ప్రాకారముమీద నుండెను, ఆమె ప్రాకారము మీద నివసించునది గనుక త్రాడువేసి కిటికిద్వారా వారిని దింపెను.

15. Then she let them down by a cord through the window, for her house was upon the town wall, and she dwelt upon the wall.

16. ఆమెమిమ్మును తరుమబోయినవారు మీకెదు రుగా వచ్చెదరేమో, మీరు కొండలకువెళ్లి తరుమబోయిన వారు తిరిగి వచ్చువరకు మూడుదినములు అచ్చట దాగి యుండుడి, తరువాత మీ త్రోవను వెళ్లుడని వారితో అనగా

16. And she said unto them, "Get you to the mountain, lest the pursuers meet you; and hide yourselves there three days until the pursuers have returned, and afterward may ye go your way."

17. ఆ మనుష్యులు ఆమెతో ఇట్లనిరియిదిగో మేము ఈ దేశమునకు వచ్చువారము గనుక నీవు మాచేత చేయించిన యీ ప్రమాణము విషయమై మేము నిర్దోషుల మగునట్లు

17. And the men said unto her, "We will be blameless of this thine oath which thou hast made us swear.

18. నీవు మమ్మును దించిన ఈ కిటికీకి ఈ ఎఱ్ఱని దారమును కట్టి, నీ తండ్రిని నీ తల్లిని నీ అన్నదమ్ములను నీ తండ్రి యింటివారి నందరిని నీయింట చేర్చుకొనుము.

18. Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which thou didst let us down by; and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father's household home unto thee.

19. నీ యింటి ద్వారములలోనుండి వెలుపలికి వచ్చువాడు తన ప్రాణమునకు తానే ఉత్తరవాది, మేము నిర్దోషులమగు దుము. అయితే నీయొద్ద నీ యింటనున్న యెవనికేగాని యే అపాయమైనను తగిలినయెడల దానికి మేమే ఉత్తర వాదులము.

19. And it shall be that whosoever shall go out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we will be guiltless; and whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood shall be on our head if any hand be upon him.

20. నీవు మా సంగతి వెల్లడిచేసినయెడల నీవు మాచేత చేయించిన యీ ప్రమాణము విషయములో మేము దోషులము కామనిరి.

20. And if thou utter this our business, then we will be free of thine oath which thou hast made us to swear."

21. అందుకు ఆమెమీ మాటచొప్పున జరుగునుగాక అని చెప్పి వారిని వెళ్ల నంపెను. వారు వెళ్లినతరువాత ఆమె ఆ తొగరుదార మును కిటికీకి కట్టెను.

21. And she said, "According unto your words, so be it." And she sent them away, and they departed; and she bound the scarlet line in the window.

22. వారు వెళ్లి కొండలను చేరి తరుము వారు తిరిగి వచ్చువరకు మూడు దినములు అక్కడ నివ సించిరి. తరుమువారు ఆ మార్గమందంతటను వారిని వెద కిరి గాని వారు కనబడలేదు.

22. And they went and came unto the mountain, and abode there three days until the pursuers had returned; and the pursuers sought them throughout all the way, but found them not.

23. ఆ యిద్దరు మనుష్యులు తిరిగి కొండలనుండి దిగి నది దాటి నూను కుమారుడైన యెహోషువయొద్దకు వచ్చి తమకు సంభవించినదంతయు అతనితో వివరించి చెప్పిరి.

23. So the two men returned and descended from the mountain, and passed over and came to Joshua the son of Nun, and told him all things that befell them.

24. మరియు వారుఆ దేశ మంతయు యెహోవా మన చేతికి అప్పగించుచున్నాడు, మన భయముచేత ఆ దేశనివాసులందరికి ధైర్యము చెడి యున్నదని యెహోషువతో ననిరి.

24. And they said unto Joshua, "Truly the LORD hath delivered into our hands all the land, for even all the inhabitants of the country do faint because of us."

యెహోషువ 1

1. యెహోవా సేవకుడైన మోషే మృతినొందిన తరువాత, యెహోవా నూను కుమారుడును మోషే పరిచారకుడు నైన యెహోషువకు ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చెనునా సేవకుడైన మోషే మృతినొందెను.

1. Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, it came to pass that the LORD spoke unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,

2. కాబట్టి నీవు లేచి, నీవును ఈ జనులందరును ఈ యొర్దానునది దాటి నేను ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల కిచ్చుచున్న దేశమునకు వెళ్లుడి.

2. "Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou and all this people, unto the land which I give to them, even to the children of Israel.

3. నేను మోషేతో చెప్పి నట్లు మీరు అడుగుపెట్టు ప్రతి స్థలమును మీకిచ్చు చున్నాను.

3. Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

4. అరణ్యమును ఈ లెబానోను మొదలుకొని మహానదియైన యూఫ్రటీసు నదివరకును హిత్తీయుల దేశ మంతయు పడమట మహా సముద్రమువరకును మీకు సరి హద్దు.

4. From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your border.

5. నీవు బ్రదుకు దినములన్నిటను ఏ మనుష్యుడును నీ యెదుట నిలువలేక యుండును; నేను మోషేకు తోడై యుండినట్లు నీకును తోడైయుందును.

5. There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee nor forsake thee.

6. నిన్ను విడువను నిన్ను ఎడబాయను, నిబ్బరముగలిగి ధైర్యముగా నుండుము. వారికిచ్చెదనని నేను వారి పితరులతో ప్రమాణము చేసిన యీ దేశమును నిశ్చయముగా నీవు ఈ ప్రజల స్వాధీనము చేసెదవు.

6. Be strong and of a good courage, for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land which I swore unto their fathers to give them.

7. అయితే నీవు నిబ్బరముగలిగి జాగ్రత్తపడి బహు ధైర్యముగానుండి, నా సేవకుడైన మోషే నీకు ఆజ్ఞా పించిన ధర్మశాస్త్రమంతటి చొప్పున చేయవలెను. నీవు నడుచు ప్రతి మార్గమున చక్కగా ప్రవర్తించునట్లు నీవు దానినుండి కుడికిగాని యెడమకుగాని తొలగకూడదు.

7. Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses My servant commanded thee. Turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.

8. ఈ ధర్మశాస్త్రగ్రంథమును నీవు బోధింపక తప్పిపో కూడదు. దానిలో వ్రాయబడిన వాటన్నిటి ప్రకారము చేయుటకు నీవు జాగ్రత్తపడునట్లు దివారాత్రము దాని ధ్యానించినయెడల నీ మార్గమును వర్ధిల్లజేసికొని చక్కగా ప్రవర్తించెదవు.

8. This Book of the Law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein. For then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

9. నేను నీ కాజ్ఞయిచ్చియున్నాను గదా, నిబ్బరముగలిగి ధైర్యముగా నుండుము, దిగులుపడకుము జడియకుము. నీవు నడుచు మార్గమంతటిలో నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా నీకు తోడైయుండును.

9. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed, for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."

10. కాగా యెహోషువ ప్రజల నాయకులకు ఈలాగు ఆజ్ఞాపించెనుమీరు పాళెములోనికి పోయి జనులతో ఈ మాట చెప్పుడి

10. Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,

11. మీరు స్వాధీనపరచుకొనుటకు మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మీకిచ్చుచున్న దేశమును స్వాధీనపరచుకొనబోవుటకై మూడు దినములలోగా మీరు ఈ యొర్దానును దాటవలెను. గనుక ఆహారమును సిద్ధపరచుకొనుడి.

11. "Pass through the host and command the people, saying, `Prepare you victuals, for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God giveth you to possess it.'"

12. మరియు రూబేనీయులకును గాదీయులకును మనష్షే అర్ధగోత్రపువారికిని యెహోషువ యీలాగు ఆజ్ఞా పించెను.

12. And to the Reubenites and to the Gadites and to half the tribe of Manasseh spoke Joshua, saying,

13. యెహోవా సేవకుడైన మోషే మీ కాజ్ఞా పించిన సంగతి జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొనుడి, ఎట్లనగా మీ దేవు డైన యెహోవా మీకు విశ్రాంతి కలుగజేయుచున్నాడు; ఆయన ఈ దేశమును మీకిచ్చును.

13. "Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, `The LORD your God hath given you rest and hath given you this land.'

14. మీ భార్యలును మీపిల్లలును మీ ఆస్తియు యొర్దాను అవతల మోషే మీకిచ్చిన యీ దేశమున నివసింపవలెనుగాని, పరాక్రమ వంతులును శూరులునైన మీరందరు యుద్ధసన్నద్ధులై మీ సహోదరులకు ముందుగా

14. Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side of the Jordan. But ye shall pass before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valor, and help them

15. నది దాటి, యెహోవా మీకు దయచేసినట్లు మీ సహోదరులకును విశ్రాంతి దయచేయు వరకు, అనగా మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా వారికిచ్చు దేశమును స్వాధీనపరచుకొనువరకు మీరును సహాయము చేయ వలెను. అప్పుడు తూర్పున యొర్దాను ఇవతల యెహోవా సేవకుడైన మోషే మీకిచ్చిన మీ స్వాస్థ్యమైన దేశమునకు మీరు తిరిగి వచ్చి దాని స్వాధీనపరచుకొందురు.

15. until the LORD shall have given your brethren rest, as He hath given you, and they also have possessed the land which the LORD your God giveth them. Then ye shall return unto the land of your possession and enjoy it, which Moses the LORD'S servant gave you on this side of the Jordan toward the sunrising."

16. అందుకు వారునీవు మా కాజ్ఞాపించినదంతయు మేము చేసెదము, నీవు మమ్ము నెక్కడికి పంపుదువో అక్కడికి పోదుము;

16. And they answered Joshua, saying, "All that thou commandest us we will do, and whithersoever thou sendest us we will go.

17. మోషే చెప్పిన ప్రతిమాట మేము వినినట్లు నీ మాట విందుము; నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మోషేకు తోడైయుండినట్లు నీకును తోడైయుండును గాక.

17. According as we hearkened unto Moses in all things, so will we hearken unto thee; only the LORD thy God be with thee, as He was with Moses.

18. నీమీద తిరుగబడి నీవు వారికి ఆజ్ఞాపించు ప్రతి విషయములో నీ మాట వినని వారందరు మరణశిక్ష నొందుదురు; నీవు నిబ్బరముగలిగి ధైర్యము తెచ్చుకొనవలెనని యెహోషువకు ఉత్తరమిచ్చిరి.

18. Whosoever he be that doth rebel against thy commandment and will not hearken unto thy words in all that thou commandest him, he shall be put to death. Only be strong and of a good courage."
